We are a Religious Congregation of men consecrated to God for the service of the Church. We were founded in 1914 by the Venerable Fr. Félix de Jesús Rougier and are part of the Works of the Cross, which were inspired by Blessed Concepción Cabrera de Armida.
We live our consecration to God in a community of brothers, supporting one another, and by taking the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. Some members are called to the Priesthood, Permanent Deaconate, or Coadjutor Brotherhood. We are 354 members with communities in the U.S., Mexico, Costa Rica, Chile, Spain, Italy and Sicily.
Missonaries of the Holy Spirit have been serving the people of GOD in the United States for over 50 years, first in Texas, then in California, Oregon, and Washington.
Thanks to the blessings of vocations, in July, 1999 the decision was made to begin the Vicariate of Christ the Priest. And then in 2003 we became the Province of Christ the Priest. This meant growth and autonomy, leading us to new ways of expansion.
Our mission is to follow Christ the Priest and to work to encourage God’s people to live their baptismal priesthood through a deep prayer life that has the Eucharist as its center; the celebration of the Eucharist; spiritual direction and Confession; and Parish Ministry.
The Felix Rougier House of Studies is the second stage of basic formation in which our brothers develop human, religious, intellectual and ministerial skills, and complete a Bachelors degree in Philosophy at Mt. Angel Seminary. During this stage, brothers also do ministry at a parish in the area.
